We took lots of walks and met some interesting folks. The park had mostly long term residents and a few open “slots” available. All in all, it was a nice place to stay. A lot of trees and bushes for Barney to visit.
Sunday, we met up with Carrie and some other nuts at the Cheese Cake Factory in Santa Clara. Let’s see, Sue, Terri, Judy, her mom, Lorraine and Chester, Theresa, Eleanor, Carrie and Keith came out to meet us. I can’t believe this crowd.

Carol was looking for takers at arm wrestling and only Sue had the nerve. I don’t recall who won. I think it was a draw.

Theresa and Judy’s mom were so quiet,

Carrie was so sweet (thanks, by the way for setting this stop up).

Keith wasn’t quite sure what to expect next. I think we had a ball.

Monday, the 3rd was spent touring the area including Vallejo (where Michelle spent a lot of her past), Benicia, where she was raised and where her grandparent’s lived, and Martinez. Carol kept saying “I could live here!” I think she fell in love with the area. It is beautiful, close to the bay and a whole lot cooler than we had been experiencing earlier on this trip.
We had dinner with Mike Z (the owner of Champion) and his wonderful wife, Beverly.

I have to tell all of you, that these guys share the same relationship that Michelle and I share. They “Gotta get a room”! It isn’t often you meet a business owner who would rather talk about his family than business. It was a beautiful time together getting the know them both. They are both Champion users (naturally) and it and hours of working out keeps them both in great shape. I noticed Carol didn’t ask either of them to arm wrestle.
Michelle and I spent some quiet time doing laundry and “other stuff” by ourselves on the morning of the 4th. Mike had invited us to join them at a family gathering on the 4th. We had previously met his mother and she hoped we could come. More on that, tomorrow.
Thanks,
Don Curran

You noticed THEY did not ask me to arm wrestle either ;)
Actually, it was Sue from CA's idea to arm wrestle. She was just sure she could put me down, but I had mercy on her and just held her steady in neutral while she tried and failed, lol. I never recommend arm wrestling...heck what if someone beats me and ruins my image??
